The pre-order book Launch

A tale of hiccups and Hallelujahs!

So much planning. So much anticipation. So much excitement! And then - less than 30 minutes after the social media posts went out to announce the pre-order launch - the calls started coming in with questions about the ordering functionality. *Big sigh*

Not quite back to the drawing board, but some kinks had reared their disruptive heads. I am an author. And I am a marketer. But I have quickly discovered that I am not a website expert. Thankfully - and this is where the Hallelujahs come in - I have “friends in high places” who came to my rescue.

My entire journey to becoming a picture book author has provided me with countless opportunities to count my blessings, express my gratitude, and humbly accept the encouragement of family, colleagues, mentors, neighbors, and friends. The journey to publishing is not for the faint of heart. And, thankfully, not a journey I walked alone. Far from it!

So, while book launch day wasn’t flawless, it was successful. THANKS in large part to the expertise and reassurance of my support system. Today was another in a long line of FIRSTS - each one worthy of celebration as much as learning. After all, that’s what this journey is all about. A journey of discovery for myself as well as my readers.
